Best Way to parse jar tvf output

      Share This:

      Hey guys,

I'm trying to put the output of jar tvf into something reasonable like csv or xml.

If you have the jdk installed and run jar tvf then you get output like this for each class in there:

      1488 Sat Feb 09 23:38:10 EST 2002 org/apache/struts/taglib/LocalStrings.properties

All the spaces you see are space characters. There are really 3 columns, the size, the datestamp and the class file path.

      I would like something like:

      or a nice xml structure.

Either will do but points will be awarded for the MINIMAL number of command characters used as I am trying to jam this into an extended object command and space is limited.
