So consider the following case: a compliance job checking some values for all entries in a configuration file. This can be accomplished with one rule, using a wildcarded path such as 'Config_file_name//*', then checking for various criteria.
When the compliance job is run, if one or several entries in the configuration file do not match the criteria, the rule fails. Okay so far.
However, in the reporting module, or if the compliance job results are exported from the GUI, all that can be seen is that the rule failed. It does not show in detail which of the entries in the configuration file failed. Yet, these entries can be seen in the gui, by selecting the rule, then the failed condition highlighted in red.
So, can anybody think of a way of reporting which entries failed, on which targets?
in reports i believe you want to add the 'Rule | Reason for Failure' data item.
i don't have any compliance data in my vm... so i can't verify...
