Suse SLES 10 Provisioning without PXE

We are trying to put together a Provisioning Manager System Package to provision sles 10 servers. These servers will be prestaged with a grub and syslinux installation that has a routable network driver, an ip address, netmask, default router and where to get its kernel, initrd and autoyast file, via tftp.

The BL documentation is pretty specific that provisioning starts with pxe and dhcp and follows a pretty strict roadmap. Is it possible to get right to the construction and placement of the autoyast file so it is available for the server when it calls for it and not have all the "learn who I am" steps prior to that?
