Is it possible to display  unix file permissions in Configuration Manager

    Bill Bruncati

Configuration Manager displays Name, Type, Modified, and Size.

Is it also possible to display the unix ownerships and

permissions like with "ls -l" ?

      For ex.

      -rw-rr 1 bb other 48528 Oct 12 20:23 todo

      Thanks,

      Bill

          Hello Bill.

The answer to your questions is Yes... But, it depends upon what you are actually trying to do.

If you ALWAYS wanted to see the permissions & ownership of a specific file (which would ALWAYS exist across each instance of the particuar OS) then an easy way to get that information would be to create an Extended Object definition that uses a network shell command to perform an 'ls -l' on the specific file and have the output parsed for viewing in the Configuration Manager GUI.

If, however, you wanted to display the permissions and ownerships of any number of files, in any directories, on a given OS platform, then the best method would be to use the network shell CLI environment and just issue the appropriate command in the shell.

          Regards,

          Jeff
