If you reinstall an agent on a server that has had an agent previously the license is immediately expired. Is this what happened?
No, I almost sure this server was never
licensed. I just added the server to my Configuration
Manager today and wanted to browse it.
I do plan on licensing it eventually.
Doesn't matter about the license. Are you sure you never had an agent on this server before you installed it today? Was there an agent on it in the past or even a messed up installation that you removed and had to reinstall?
Also, is this a physical server, or a VM ? VMs w/ variable CPUs can become unlicensed when the cpu count is dynamically changed by the host system. Or is the system using DHCP? That may affect this as well.
This is not a VM, just a standalone Solaris box.
I do not know the whole history
of the server. I'll check into whether
it's been part of any Bladelogic setup
and let you know .
re-reading the post I never asked. When was this agent installed?
I will have to get back to you on that.
Now I'm thinking maybe the developer installed
the agent further back than I realized and
it could be over 2 weeks since I've gotten
around to adding it to my Configuration Manager.
I'll find that out too.
