I think the custom commands only apply to servers, files and directories, so you need to be right clicking on one of those. 'Live' is none of those... If you right click on one of the directories under the 'Live' you should get the custom command menu.
While reading this I was thinking...
Are there plans to make a custom command alike feature available on other objects (depot object, component templates, ...)?
I'm interested since we have some jobs (scripts) that are used for release management. To execute these we'll have to change the params of the job and execute it. It could be handy to have such scripts under the right click menu of that depot object. This way the users do not have to change job properties before they execute it.
I'ts just an idea, but can be a nice feature in my opinion. You'll be able to fit a customer's need a bit better since it's more flexible.
I haven't seen anything like that in the works, if you think it's a good addition, submit a ticket w/ support asking for the feature and the use case. It does sound like a good idea.
Actually, we are trying to click on a directory in the live view. We are unable to bring up custom commands for the first directory under the live view, but all of its subdirectories have custom commands available. Do you experience the same thing with live view components?
Oh, ok. Actually I think I've heard that's a known defect. You might still want to open a ticket.
Thanks Bill, I will open a ticket for this.
