The 6.1.1 agent doesn't know anything about Shavlik, so it's just not going to work.
Actually that's not entirely true. The 6.3 agent doesn't know anything about Shavlik either. All of the Shavlik stuff is incorporated into a separate executable. Which can be manually added to older agents (see the release_notes for more information). I believe the procedure documented there is what Frank references in the original message. These steps specifically say
6.2 but they "could" potentially work with 6.1 as well.
Unfortunately, this still doesn't help Frank with the original problem.
Hello Sean, thanks for the feedback but as per my initial post I had already followed the release notes and the procedure entailed and received the error message I had stated. Just wondered if someone at BladeLogic could test on their system to see if they experience the same?
Frank - since the HFNetChk.xml file is encrypted, you need to have MSXML 3 or higher on the agent in order to read the file.
I know you said that you followed the upgrade instructions, so apologies if you do have the correct MSXML SP, but if not - that might be the parse error you are getting.
On the other hand, the exception is stating that the results file is empty, so it may well be that the HFNetChk file is being read, but results aren't being written for another reason. In that case, you may want to consult support. :)
