There will be a set of on-going enhancements to the support portal, one of which is to store this designation (another user brought this to my attention a short while ago). We planned to initially provide a "BladeLogic" or "Customer" designation, as it's unclear whether all customers would want to share their company (due to certain company policies). If you definitely think the company name would help as well, then we can look into it.
Once implemented, you should be able to see company information by clicking on a username. When you do that today, it shows the username, # posts, and date registered (which is actually always today's date...this will be fixed as well). This is where you'll see company designation as well.
Thanks for your patience as we work out the kinks with the system. In the meantime, I hope you're finding it useful.
Of course I find it useful. That's why I am suggesting enhancements...
We just released an update to the Customer Portal which, among other things, includes the ability to see a customer designation next each user's name within the threads. Users have the option of showing their company name or just a generic "Customer" label, but by default the company name will appear.
I will be posting a note about this on the Customer Portal home page and will detail the important enhancements that have been made.
Thanks, that is EXACTLY what Iw as looking for.
One other thing. When you look for more info on the users that are online, it tells you what country they are from. However, it would appear that either the UK has been annexed by the USA or I have relocated, as I am listed as being from the United States. Did I miss a memo, or an invasion perhaps?
Seriously though, is there anyway we can specify our country in our profile?
It would be nice to see where in the world other users are from.
We'll check into this. The software we use sets the flag by doing some sort of reverse lookup. It may default to the US if it is unable to determine the location from which you're connected.
Ian, didn't you get the memo? ;)
I am from Canada, but I too have the stars & stripes.
