This could be achieve through TSSR existing out of box report "Detailed Compliance Report", where you just have to filter your template name and run the report.
Now it match with your requirement field like, Template(Policy) Name, Job Name, (Targeted) Server Name, Each Run Time, Rule Name, Status (Rule Status (compliant/non-compliant) for targeted servers). Fields Rule Group and Rules definition are (extra)other than your requirement.
Just attach sample output of the report for visualize.
Let us know if this helps your query.
First, I wanna thank you for your answer.
Regrettably, it does not cover our needs. I am familiar with the "Detailed Compliance Report" and have used it as a basis for some reports we need, but I do not see how you can go around organizing it for meeting our requirements.
That Report allows us to mimic the "Servers View" resulting of a compliance job run, what we are looking for are the "Rules View" (Both available in TSSA as result of a Compliance Job run).
Essentially it is the same data but organized and summarized differently, say you only care for the latest job run:
- You would filter by: Job Name, Component Template Name and (maybe) Job Start Time.
- When you use the "Detailed compliance report" you get your data organized by target server and you can either expand or summarize the individual rules and the result for said rule in the server that acts as the key (the row) for your report.
What we are looking for is that you can base your organization on the rules for the Component Template and then summarize the amount of servers for which that rule exited in a compliant (True) status (and/or non-compliant status), that is using each or the rules in a Component Template as a key for the report°|
I haven't found in the "Compliance data model" any field that tells me for an individual rule how many servers passed the compliance test, or to phrase it in a different way, which target servers returned a "compliant" status on a per-rule basis (granularity).
If there was I understand it would let us summarize those (compliant/non-compliant) hits and produce the output we're looking for.
That's raises the second part of the question, if there is an alternative data model which allows for such an organization.
I saw you also responded in an old thread where there was the cognos version of a top-n compliant/non-compliant rules, I posted in that thread because I believe that is in essence what I am looking for, but again, I understand it is the cognos not the yellowfin version of it.
I would be more than happy building the report out of a FreehandSQL query, but I am not sure how to navigate the data warehouse to find the columns I need.
I mean, I don't know if there is a feature in TSSR that allows you to navigate the back-end tables via yellowfin (and if there is, how it's done) or if you have to query directly the data-warehouse and build the diagram from it (but I understand from the support guys that it is not recommended)
Any thoughts? I would greatly appreciate it
As for TSSR, not quite sure how to get the version
I found a couple of lines like this one on /app/bmc/TSSA-DW/logs/bds-ui.log on the server that hosts the app server for TSSR
[20 Aug 2020 19:52:51,095] [DEBUG] Product version is 8.9.04.003
Might that be the version?
Thanks in advancee
Please find the attachment , it contains the steps and report as per above requirement.
Let me know if you face any issue while importing the report and steps.
I just tested the report you kindly sent me, looks good at a first glance. I will look into it further, at least it will be useful as a starting point for something a bit more complicated, but might as well be useful as it is.
I couldn't import it before because I was having my TSSR infrastructure down, the only issue worth noting is the following
When importing it, in step 7 of the import guide attached before clicking on "Matched link content" when choosing "TSSR/Compliance/Compliance" I got this warning about UUIDs not matching.
Is it safe to disregard as a warning?
Thanks in advance Harsh
Yes, you can go ahead and import the report.
