    Computer System and IPEndpoint Relationships Scenarios Questions?

      We have a Staging Form where we have 4 fields of IP Address separately.

      and We are able to create Computer System and 4 IPEndpoint(PV4,SV4,PV6,SV6) Records for the same.

      We also created Relationships for 4 IPEndpoint Records in BMC.CORE:BMC_HostedAccessPoint(IP Relationships)

      And after that we have unrelated (Mark as Deleted =Yes) those records from BMC.CORE:BMC_HostedAccessPoint when Status = Disposed.

      when we update one of the IP Address field in Staging Form ,New Record of IP gets created in BMC.CORE:BMC_IPEndpoint Form and New Relationship is  formed with BMC.CORE:BMC_HostedAccessPoint. And Old Relationships for IP Address is  deleted with OLD IP Status as Delete Status(with the help of MAD(Mark as Deleted)).

      Now For below Scenarios Please confirm if they are valid:-

      1) In Staging Form We have PV4 and SV4 IP field value with same new IP ,two IP records are created in IP Endpoint Form  but only one IP is not related to Computer System.

      eg:-

      In Staging Form

      PV4=10.10.10.91

      SV4=10.10.10.91

      Now 2 separate IP records are created in IP Endpoint Form as

      PV4=10.10.10.91

      SV4=10.10.10.91

      But when they are related to Computer System it is as one 10.10.10.91.

      2)When IPEndpoint record is already present,Computer System record is not related to IPEndpoint.

      Is it Valid Scenario, If not How can we relate Computer System Record with Existing IP.

      3)When we change values of the Staging Form Record except 4 IP Values. Does Computer System Record to be created with 4 IPEndpoint Relationships?

          Answers totally depend on your requirements, how you want to represent the CDM model.

          => If there are two separate IP EndPoint instances then there should be two comp relationships with PV4 and SV4.

          => Depends on your code. I would check if record exists and get the instance id on the staging form and then build relationship using another workflow.

            Hi Ganesh,

            One Computer System can have multiple IPEndPoints, but not vice versa. Hence checking the below Scenarios:-

            1) In Staging Form We have PV4 and SV4 IP field value with same new IP ,two IP records are created in IP Endpoint Form  but only one IP is not related to Computer System.

            eg:-

            In Staging Form

            PV4=10.10.10.91

            SV4=10.10.10.91

            Now 2 separate IP records are created in IP Endpoint Form as

            PV4=10.10.10.91

            SV4=10.10.10.91

            But when they are related to Computer System it is as one 10.10.10.91.

            => If there are two separate IP EndPoint instances then there should be two comp relationships with PV4 and SV4.

            2)When IPEndpoint record is already present,Computer System record is not related to IPEndpoint.

            Is it Valid Scenario, If not How can we relate Computer System Record with Existing IP.

            => Depends on your code. I would check if record exists and get the instance id on the staging form and then build relationship using another workflow.

            3)When we change values of the Staging Form Record except 4 IP Values. Does Computer System Record to be created with 4 IPEndpoint Relationships?

            =>If computer system is new then yes, it should create new record with 4 relationships.
