No one can do anything with your message because we do not even know your original error. And if there should already be a thread for your topic, then it would be useful to share your results there, instead of opening a new thread.
In response to your question(?) I have to tell you that the reinstallation of the agent basically does not affect any assignments - whatever mistake you have exactly.

Whats actually the problem? Stucking PatchJob could mean the device just needs a reboot. To reinstall the agent wont help you.
Or maybe Java JRE and Filezilla stopping the PatchJob because BCM doesn't manage to download the setup files.
There are douzen of possibilities. You should give us more information if you wan't a clear answer.
Take a look at the patch log of the device you have problems with, please.
