We had defect QM002177122 for this problem.
It is addressed in TSIM version 11.0 and higher by setting the following property in the pw\custom\conf\pronet.conf file:
and restarting TSIM.
If you are on an older version then you would need to have a custom cell rule that uses a DDA table to achieve this.
I am glad to see ur response here.
We have around 10k servers, we cannot differentiate the platform flavours using hostnames.
LINUX/ SOLARIS / AIX has same metric name or object class .. so is the challenge. Any expert advise here ?
We are on version 10.7 SP2
well, if I understood magic Steve Mundy correctly it was fixed for 11.0 and later, so if possible upgrade to one of the latest versions, I would suggest 220.127.116.11 or you have to get this information yourself using rules and dynamic data lookup tables to populate the information you need
Hi Rop / Steve
We cannot use this setting
pronet.jserver.cell.showOSInformation=True as we are on lower version.
So my question is how will you differentiate events generated from Solaris / AIX / Linux if we are managing server thresolds?
There is no feild in event where OS information is captured .
DDN table matching criteria or rules is difficult in such cases where we have 10k servers.

I looked a bit deeper into this. Seems we also did a backport of the code change to 10.7 FP1.
As you are on FP2 then you have the fix. So, modify pw\custom\conf to contain:
restart TSIM and then you should be fine !
thanks steve, is there any doc or similar where we can see such adoptions already in the code?
