perl should be installed on all the appservers.
Ok, so Perl and VPC should be installed on all BSA App servers then someone should update the doc (Configuring VPC in a multi-application server environment - Documentation for BMC Server Automation 8.9 - BMC Documentat… ) cause I had the impression that in multi-server setup we could install it on only 1 server and use Infra Mgmt to route all related jobs to the server.

if you are using windows appservers, then you'd need to install perl on a job server and run the install of the vpc there.
for linux you would set up the nfs mount and configure perl on all.
I'm running Windows App server so thanks for confirming the type of server I should install VPC on.
Now I can get started.
Good luck. CentOS patching is alien compared to native patching.
Bill - any word of this being incorporated to the native patch catalog in bsa?
CentOS patching is alien compared to native patching.
in some ways, but in other ways it's not. generally the process of deploying metadata to the target, running the 'yum update', scraping the results, then building a blpackage and deploy job to deploy missing patches is the same. the vpc was a precursor to what you we have in the product now for windows, rhel, etc.
as far as making centos 'native' that's a question for product management.
