    Queries Regarding the Entuity

      Hi Experts,

       

      Below are some of the queries which we wanted to confirm if this can be achieved from Entuity:

       

       

      •             current availability state of all WAN circuits (CE router to PE router) == Yes

      •             current latency between every WAN CE router and PE router == Yes If the IP SLA is configured on these devices.

      •             current hourly average latency between every WAN CE router and PE routers == Yes If IP SLA is configured on the devices. But can we get the data on hourly basis

      •             current hourly average jitter between every WAN CE router and PE routers == Yes If IP SLA is configured on the devices. Btu can we get the data on hourly basis

      •             current upstream & downstream bandwidth utilization for all circuits (CE router to PE router) == Yes If Utilization of ports on which the circuit is present.

      •             current cumulative (from 1st day of billing period) percentage of hours available per circuit (CE router to PE router) ?

      •             current cumulative (from 1st day of billing period) delivered / dropped packet ratio per circuit ?

      •             Average Transmit Volume (Mb) on every CE router per day (from 1st day of billing period) ?

      •             Current cumulative Transmit Volume (Mb) on every CE router for today.?

      •             Average Receive Volume (Mb) on every CE router per day (from 1st day of billing period)?

      •             Current cumulative Receive Volume (Mb) on every CE router for today ?

      There is are requirements to provide the reporting and specific metrics for the BDR SD WAN bid.  + Managed firewalls.

      Can we provide all of the following information from the various systems, i.e. product reporting/Viptela Dashboard?

      Can we get all of this on one portal?

      •             What network availability and performance monitoring tools are used to monitor the network, and how are these deployed? BDR Thermea would like a “single pane of glass” view of the entire global WAN.

      Describe the level of customer accessible web based real-time performance and service information that can be provided as standard. Specifically describe real time service and performance reporting web capabilities in the following areas:

      •             current availability state of all WAN circuits (CE router to PE router)

      •             current latency between every WAN CE router and PE router

      •             current hourly average latency between every WAN CE router and PE routers

      •             current hourly average jitter between every WAN CE router and PE routers

      •             current upstream & downstream bandwidth utilisation for all circuits (CE router to PE router);

      •             current cumulative (from 1st day of billing period) percentage of hours available per circuit (CE router to PE router)

      •             current cumulative (from 1st day of billing period) delivered / dropped packet ratio per circuit

          This requires the installation of a configuration file that will extend the retention of the hourly rollup data for the IP-SLA test type.

          This requires the installation of a configuration file that will extend the retention of the hourly rollup data for the IP-SLA test type.

           

          current cumulative (from 1st day of billing period) percentage of hours available per circuit (CE router to PE router) ?

          Entuity monitors port availability as a standard metric. If the port is operationally down, this will factor into the port availability metric. However, if the end-to-end circuit goes down but the port stays operationally up (as is usually the case with an MPLS circuit), the port availability would not be affected. It might be better to configure an IP-SLA test between the routers to measure the circuit availability.

           

          current cumulative (from 1st day of billing period) delivered / dropped packet ratio per circuit ?

          This is best performed by configuring an IP-SLA test between the routers on the circuit and have Entuity monitor the IP-SLA tests.

           

          Average Transmit Volume (Mb) on every CE router per day (from 1st day of billing period) ?

          If it is a single port on the CE router, then this is automatically monitored by Entuity.

           

          Current cumulative Transmit Volume (Mb) on every CE router for today.?

          This would require the configuration of a service on the Entuity server and would require all ports from every CE router to be placed into this service. The service would then need to be configured for traffic aggregation. This would then measure the cumulative transmit traffic on all CE routers.

           

          Average Receive Volume (Mb) on every CE router per day (from 1st day of billing period)?

          If it is a single port on the CE router, then this is automatically monitored by Entuity.

           

          Current cumulative Receive Volume (Mb) on every CE router for today ?

          This would require the configuration of a service on the Entuity server and would require all ports from every CE router to be placed into this service. The service would then need to be configured for traffic aggregation. This would then measure the cumulative receive traffic on all CE routers.

            Hi Larry,

             

            Thank You for the reply and helping me understand how these points can be achieved.

             

            I would just like to confirm that for the points where you have mentioned "This requires the installation of a configuration file that will extend the retention of the hourly rollup data for the IP-SLA test type."

             

            We would need to raise a ticket and take help from support for the configuration file as this would be an customization.

              Avinash,

               

              I think I may have given you some incorrect information. The hourly IP-SLA rollups are retained for 35 days. If you want to have that data retained for a longer period of time, Entuity would need to extend the retention via configuration files on the Entuity server.
