Thanks Adriano but finding this solution doesn't seem to be very intuitive. How did you come up with it?

Hi John Schmidt
I don´t know exactly how to answer this question.
You can look at the JOB LOG node option on the EM Client GUI and identify any "message ID" you desire to look for and run ctmlog util in order to filter it.
Also, for your reference, the Message Codes section on the Documentation: Control-M 9.0.19 Control-M Documentation - Control-M - BMC Documentation
It is my pleasure to serve you.
The ctmlog utility so see all Control-M log entries -
ctmlog list 190308 0840 190308 0845
Grep on specific events, e.g. conditions added -
ctmlog list 190308 0140 190308 0845 | grep 'UT|5209|CONDITION'
N.B. be careful with this command, queries that cover long periods/data will use temp space and load the server.
I have ran command 'ctmlog listmsg 5140 20190303 1000 20190303 1200' but I cannot find the output file. I checked in the directory where I ran the command but do not find it??

It will not generate an output file. It will output to screen or there is no data that satisfy the query.
Also, it you depend if yor environment have the appropriate retention for the CTMLOG. it is cleaned up daily.
You may want to run ctmlog listmsg 5140 with different date period by modifying like the CMD line like this with an appropriate range .
ctmlog listmsg 5140 20190101 0000 20190308 1200
