AL's don't have that concept.....so, let us know what you are trying to accomplish and we can likely help you get where you want to go.
When I change the support group in an incident ticket and click on the Add button (Work Detail) validate the information against what I have at the database level and not about what I have on the screen.
Maybe I can use "Service", if so, how can I use it?

So, you can do a few things....you could either grab the db value via a setfields action using requestid to get the current db value, store it in a temp field, then do whatever you need on it, or, you could use a service action, passing in any values you need, and write a series of filters that do what you need and return a value from there that satisfies your needs
