1. Re: BCM - "Last Audit": Does the last audit field get populated only when a client agent reports or by some other parameter?
Steve Gibbs Jan 17, 2019 7:59 AM (in response to David Hoyt)David,
Are you using Track2018/2019 to see this "Last Audit Date"?
In the actual BCM Admin Console it should read "Last Update Time"... Just need clarity to better answer your question.
Anytime that record is updated it will timestamp this value. If a Discover Scan is run, If an AD Synch is run and a change is made or if the Agent on the device reports back in with any update at all.

David Hoyt Jan 30, 2019 10:32 AM (in response to Steve Gibbs)Steve, Sorry for delay. Got my priorities changed for me.
I am confirming with desktop team if we are using Track2018/2019 to see this "Last Audit Date".

3. Re: BCM - "Last Audit": Does the last audit field get populated only when a client agent reports or by some other parameter?
Steve Gibbs Jan 30, 2019 10:51 AM (in response to David Hoyt)No worries David! In Trackit 2018 there is a setting to Synch with BCM and this is typically scheduled to run once daily or on Demand. You must be an admin in TrackIt to see this feature. Check with your TrackIt admin about how your instance is setup.

David Hoyt Jan 30, 2019 11:09 AM (in response to Steve Gibbs)Thanks Steve. I will forward the additional information to our Das and to TrackIt admin and see what they say. Let you know.

5. Re: BCM - "Last Audit": Does the last audit field get populated only when a client agent reports or by some other parameter?
David Hoyt Feb 11, 2019 8:20 AM (in response to David Hoyt)Steve, our Desktop Admins came back saying they do not use Trackit so they couldn't use the information. Thanks for the information though. If you have any other ideas I would love to hear them.

6. Re: BCM - "Last Audit": Does the last audit field get populated only when a client agent reports or by some other parameter?
Steve Gibbs Feb 11, 2019 8:25 AM (in response to David Hoyt)David,
Could you provide a Screen Shot of where you are seeing this "Last Audit" value or at least the product name? BMC Client Management uses "Last Update". This is why I chased that rabbit for TrackIt. More details provided by you will assist in getting your questions answered.

8. Re: BCM - "Last Audit": Does the last audit field get populated only when a client agent reports or by some other parameter?
Steve Gibbs Feb 11, 2019 1:32 PM (in response to David Hoyt)David,
I still did not see where you see "Last Audit Date"... So, if you are only using the CMDB exclusively and not using the asset link control to access BCM DB "LIVE" then the Audit Date is either the last synch time using the above fields OR the actual last time the device checked into BCM. Without knowing why you are going directly into the DB instead of using the Out of the box integration that FP provides, I cannot be of more assistance. You may wish to ask the folks that were behind the curtain when this got implemented as to their thought process and what they actually did...

9. Re: BCM - "Last Audit": Does the last audit field get populated only when a client agent reports or by some other parameter?
Dominik Kress Feb 13, 2019 1:57 PM (in response to Steve Gibbs)Hi David,
The "LastAudit" which is imported from BCM to your FP11 CMDB is the Last Update field from BCM. That date is set when the last contact to the BCM agent happened. This is not the last time an inventory update was done. Each inventory has its own date/time value.
------
The issue is I have had some situations where I know that a particular device is not on the network in yet I have a "Last Audit Date". Any ideas?
-------
If you are sure that the timestamp "Last Audit Date" in your CMDB is wrong than you have to check the BCM console to see if the same device has the identical timestamp in BCM (field: Last Update). If so the import is correct. Are you able to verify this?
