2 of 2 people found this helpfulGanesh,
You seem to be floundering a bit, so I want to lay down the ground rules of escalations for you
An escalation will run in one of two places, either in it's assigned pool (if that thread is allocated), or in pool 1, it'll also run in pool 1 if you don't assign a pool (leave the pool blank)
that's it, plain and simple....so, if you assign an escalation to pool 6, but you don't have your max threads on 390603 set to at least 6, it'll run in 1, if you do, it'll run in 6....
So, with that said....Escalation management for what you are discussing is exceedingly complex....but I have a tool for ya
Escalation Runtime – A Programming Legacy
Turn on your escalation logging and run this tool against the log you generate....I recommend the sorting by pool to do the sort of analysis you are looking for.....what this program will do for you is it will show you all of the escalations that ran during the log window, sorted by pool (assuming you choose that option) and start/end time....from this you should be able to see which escalations are bumping into eachother (supposed to start before the other was finished)....you can determine if you need to move existing escalations to existing pools, or create new pools for them to run in.....but, to start....look at your escalations, find out what your highest pool is, and set your max threads for 390603 to that value....

Ganesh Mhaske Oct 12, 2018 2:57 PM (in response to LJ LongWing)Thanks, so you mean to say, threads for queue 390603 are not shown in thread logs started from server information?
Thanks

In theory they should be, I'm not 100% sure....but I know escalation logging will show you what pool an escalation is running in and pool=thread as far as 390603 is concerned....so if the escalation log says it's running in that pool, the thread is there....I've never actually looked in the thread log for escalation threads starting....never had a reason to.

4. Re: AR 9.1.04 thread logs do not show any escalation threads started.
Ganesh Mhaske Oct 12, 2018 3:17 PM (in response to LJ LongWing)Ok. I can see different pools in escalation logs. However on contradiction I also see some escalations running on admin thread. As mentioned we have 10 pools and 10 threads. So why admin thread is running some escalations… that points that some threads are not started in escalation queue. Hence trying to find this detail. I know escalation threads were recorded in thread log in earlier version.

LJ LongWingOct 12, 2018 3:23 PM (in response to Ganesh Mhaske)
If you have escalations running on the Admin thread, that's caused by someone going into the Dev Studio, right clicking on the escalation and choosing 'Run Now'.....
