Use CMDB driver to make it easy, here are the steps :

          From command prompt :

          C:\Program Files\BMC Software\AtriumCore\cmdb\server64\bin>cmdbdriver.exe

          Type init command :

          Command: init

Type log to login to server, provide user name , password and server name, rest of the parameters are optional

          Command: log

          Control record:

             Authentication string () :

             User name () : Demo

             Password () :

             Locale[.charSet] () :

             TimeZone () :

             Server () : localhost

If you have port then use command ssp

          Command: ssp

Test if your login and connection is successful. use gc command as shown below :

          Command: gc

          GET CLASS

          Class Name

             Namespace (): BMC.CORE

             Class name (): BMC_ConcreteCollection

you can use expdf to export from PROD and  impdf on Dev to import the classes

          Command: expdf
          EXPORT DEFINITION
          Export Item List:
Number of export items (0): 1
             Item Type: (Class, Attribute) (1-2) (1): 1
             Class Type
                Class Name
                   Namespace (): BMC.CORE
                   Class name (): BMC_Offering
          Filename for exported def: c:\temp\BMC_Offering.xml

             CMDBExportDef  results
          ReturnCode:  OK
          Status List : 0 items

          Command:

          Command: impdf
          DEFINITION IMPORT
          Import Item List:
Number of import items (0): 1
             Item Type: (Class, Attribute) (1-2) (1): 1
             Class Type
                Class Name
                   Namespace (): BMC.CORE
                   Class name (): BMC_Offering
          Import option : Create/Overwrite (1-2) (1): 2
          Filename containing import data: c:\frb\BMC_Offering.xml

             CMDBImportDef  results
          ReturnCode:  OK
          Status List : 0 items

          Hope this helps.

            Hi Shankar,

Is there a way just to export few  CIs (5-10), I don't want to export all the CIs in the class?

            Thanks in advance,

            Sulabh

You can do this using Atrium Integrator Client (Spoon). Which is by far the easiest way. Otherwise you can export them to a csv/arx and then import via data import tool as well.

                hi Sankar,

is this command include the relationship CI class wihtin the computation model & propagation model?

I try to move all the modelling that i create from one server to another server, is this possible using this method?

                  Hello Sankar,

The command which you had provided is to export and import of the class and attributes from one environment to other .

If you had made any changes in class or added new attribute then the command is used.

Sulabh  You can use the Spoon client to export data using the ARInput and provide the Instance ID which you want to export in qualification tab .
