Can you elaborate? Is this a new field? Are you using RF change assessment?
Have you checked formula fields as new field under "Change Assesment"?
Something like this;
BMCServiceDesk__FKChange__r.BMCServiceDesk__Change_Category__c where Change Category is your field on the parent change.
we created a new custom filed in the Change Request object called "CoP_Change_Title__c", we created the same field in the Change Assessment object and tried to use the Formula to set the Change Assessment version to equal the Change Request version and
receive an error
Error: Field BMCServiceDesk__FKChange_Request_name__c does not
generates the same error.
thank you for your help
Can you clarify what data type is the new field in Change Assessment object? If you created a Text or similar type of field on Change Assessment and are trying to set the value from Change Request field as Default Value formula, unfortunately, that is not possible. Instead for the field on Change Assessment, select the data type as "Formula" and the formula return type as "Text" and then use the formula suggested as above BMCServiceDesk__FKChange__r.CoP_Change_Title__c
Hope this helps.
Thank you Samruddhi,
we deleted the current "Change Title" as we could not change the field type to formula. we then recreated "Change Title" as a formula as directed.
this was accepted by the system, thanks again.
May i ask, what is the FK name for Change_Assessment?
If you are referring to the Change Assessment object then the API Name is BMCServiceDesk__Change_Assessment__c. If you are looking for the name of a particular field on Change Assessment then you can refer the API Name column in the Custom Fields & Relationships section on the object.
i use "BMCServiceDesk__Change_Assessment__c.CoP_Division_CAB__c" and receive Error: Field BMCServiceDesk__Change_Assessment__c does not exist. Check spelling.
i guess i need something like BMCServiceDesk__FKChange_Assessment__r
Correct. Make sure that the assessment object name end with the __r.
Error: Field BMCServiceDesk__Change_Assessment__r does not exist. Check spelling.
Ah wait. On change you don’t have a lookup to change assessment.
You can use a similair formula from Change assessment. Here you will have something like BMC_Servicedesk_change_request__r..
Would that work for you?
Within change you don’t have the relation to assessment, from assessment to change you can.
