    Patch deployment sequence

Hi, Microsoft has released a statement about Windows 2016's June cumulative patch.

"Windows 10 version 1607 and Windows Server 2016 users must install KB4132216 prior to installing the June 2018 cumulative security update. See 4132216 for more information. See 4132216 for more information."

If I have a server that shows KB4132216 and the June 2018 CU Patch as missing, would Shavlik know it needs to install KB4132216 first before the CU patch for June?

The Shavlik data does not contain dependency info which BSA can use for patch deployment.

As for this specific case to ensure the required patch is first installed could use a patch analysis job just for KB4132216 or a compliance job.

There isa pre-requisite put in place for KB4132216 to be installed prior to being able to find KB4284880 missing and applicable in the

            scan results.

One change was made  in the latest XML release will be that the update KB4132216 will be changed from Non-security to Security.

the XML release will be that the update KB4132216 will be changed from Non-security to Security. The catalog needs to be updated for this change to take effect.
