Hey there Claus,
I just created a new Op Rule to validate/test and I am on 18.104.22.168 (Hotfix 1). Worked like a champ:
Could you provide screen shot like mine to verify... I ran as current user and I was logged on... Remember, a USER MUST BE LOGGED ON when you assign this rule to run.
Not sure why you are having issues but to move forward have you considered just creating a batch file using the regular %userprofile% variable and deploying that to targets or calling it using UNC path and running that as current user?
OR - You create everything you need on the fly:
Step 1 Makes sure the directory is there to write file to
Step 2 simply creates a file
Step 3 cleans the file
Step 4 adds the command line needed
Step 5 runs the batch file
Step 6 Clean up
Yes, that is the "easy" way to do it... How will folks ever learn how powerful all the various Op Rule Steps are when combined?
By leaving a batch file on the box, the currently logged on user would be able to launch manually if the admin chooses not to delete the file as final step...
You are correct though... I made it more complex than it needs to be... I wonder if Claus has run either my solution or your solution and if he is happy with all this attention he got? Claus???
