Changed the password successfully and able to login and access the Smart Reporting Admin Console.

I just installed Smart Reporting 18.05 but unfortunately I cannot login with that password. May the siadmin user have a different default password? According to the installer output, everything worked fine during the installation.

I just share with everyone that the siadmin user password hasn't a default value but it is set during the installation.
Be sure that you note it down when you install the product!

Please be careful, the reporting admin is NOT the super admin siadmin. These are two completely different users with very different tasks and permissions.
The siadmin is a system user, you can't change the name, but the password. The default password is siadmin.

thank you for the warning because this is what I'm seeing in my installation document:
I am pretty sure that the Reporing Admin User field was automatically filled with siadmin by the installer and that I only had to set a password for it.
I have also seen documents of other installations of the product and I always found it set this way.
Am I missing something?

1 of 1 people found this helpfulUntil now I was very sure that I could not set the password for siadmin in the installer.
The installer asked for a reporting admin incl. password to create this user in the AR system. This user can later edit all reports / views.
The siadmin does not exist in the ARS, but only in the Smart reporting (yellowfin) world. We change the password after the installation. Maybe I'll mix the original products with the BMC branch.
Do you have another user query and is the user written to the ARS?
Unfortunately I can only check this on Monday, in Germany it is practically already the weekend.

I assume it is not correct to set siadmin as the Reporting Admin User during the installation. Is my understanding correct?
What I'm seeing now is that I can login to Smart Reporting using the siadmin user and the password I set during the installation (and not the default password).
Could it a problem? Should I reinstall everything?

As you have reset it as part of installation then it will be your credentails down the lane to access the Environment.
