I was thinking of using button and changing its size, colour and adding icon to make it appear as a catalog tile.
This could also serve my another purpose, where user can click on the button (tile) and open another view.
For now you can only choose css classes for a Container, not for a button.
Tbh for your panel, Metro style, I would create a separate view component for this, you would have more control on it, but I see what you are trying to achieve here.
It might be interesting to have the capability to use a css style on more objects we provide, you should create an idea for this.
You might be able to do this using css in a view component, overriding existing OOTB buttons but it might be a hack.
