Hey Sanket ,
This is possible trough RKM configuration, we can track all searches from MyIT, Global Search, information is recorded in RKM:SearchHistory form. We can track searches that have no hits and searches that retrieve results.
Configuration is available on: Application Administration Console > Custom Configuration > Knowledge Management > Knowledge Management Configuration > Application Configuration > Search for company configuration > On History Recording section this can be configured. (Search History Level > All)
Thank you Adrian.
Checking more into it.
Very interested to know the outcome of this and if you was successful in capturing the searches. Could be very useful for pro-active publishing
just checked the steps Adrian mentioned, and it gives what I was looking for. It gives which string was searched, and also provides how many items were returned as a part of the MyIT search.
Items returned could be any thing like CLM, Service Broker, SRD , Knowledge articles etc.. but after enabling this setting able to find the details of MyIT searches in the form RKM:SearchHistory .
Thanks Adrian Grancea
Thanks Sanket Mhatre.
I have requested that this is enabled so I can capture the searches.
What fields are required in the view in order to see who is searching what and when? Is a Join needed to see the user information?
All required information is already present RKM:SearchHistory form, like user information, string/keyword, number of hits received, date etc. No need for new fields or joins.
Does this form contain all search history across SmartIT and MyIT?
Ive created a report pulling in the "Any of these words" column however it appears that it brings back results from both. Is there a way to separate out the SmartIT and MyIT searches?
You can extract Source Qualification or Search Filter in your report; check first with Source Qualification, this fields are stored based on the source where search was performed.
