You will probably require middleware to automate the process of creating accounts in Remedyforce from AD. Since Remedyforce leverages Salesforce user metadata, you will need to check Salesforce API documentation for the details of the specific API to use. The middleware will have to listen to events in AD, such as create account, update account, etc., and then invoke Salesforce API to load the user metadata.
I think what most customers do is use Pentaho Kettle - it looks at the AD data and when new users are added in to AD, it creates them in Remedyforce/Salesforce on a scheduled basis.
Actually, I'm not attempting to create Salesforce accounts per se. I'm trying to create accounts in other applications through Salesforce.
If I wanted to create Salesforce accounts with Active Directory I would use Salesforce Identity.
Ah, going out from Remedyforce.
So it depends on those other applications - can Pentaho Kettle write to their user directory? Or do they have an API call you can use to create an account over there?
I appreciate this is an old call (over 2 years!) but i wonder if you ever got a work around for this, i am trying to create AD users from salesforce using Pentaho Kettle but cannot seem to get them to create. I can update credentials no problem.
just clutching at straws to see if you found an answer
