Give a try by entering blank password for the email user.
What is the way you have specified the username in AR System Mailbox Configuration.
Most of time I have seen that there is setting at Exchange Server that allows user to authenticate only if the username is specified as:
Just check out with the above different approach and see if that works for you.
I tried the username formats as mentioned above.But none worked.
In the Debug log i found this:
DEBUG SMTP: protocolConnect login, host=X.X.X.X, email@example.com, password=<non-null>
DEBUG SMTP: Attempt to authenticate using mechanisms: LOGIN PLAIN DIGEST-MD5 NTLM XOAUTH2
DEBUG SMTP: mechanism LOGIN not supported by server
DEBUG SMTP: mechanism PLAIN not supported by server
DEBUG SMTP: mechanism DIGEST-MD5 not supported by server
DEBUG SMTP: Using mechanism NTLM
So i added two strings in registry:
Still the issue persists

The problem here is Remedy support Plain Authentication but it looks like that is not configured on the Exchange Server. Can you ask your Exchange admin to enable LoginType as PlainText Login for the account and then try.
