I am also facing this issue. BMC Discovery appears to find the devices, but when importing to BBNA 8.9, I get the "invalid SNMP OID[x.x.x.x.x.x.x]" error.
TSNA/BNA houses Device SNMP OIDs in the Device Type Adapters. If you know which device type the device belongs to, and will successfully perform a snapshot job, then you can add the SNMP OID to the Device type adapter; Import the modified adapter; then re-do the device import
Thanks for the response. Does BMC provide a repository of up-to-date adapters to import? I am currently getting this error on some Cisco ASA devices (models ASA 5525-X and ASA 5585). Would you also have a link to the method if I have to modify and import an adapter?
No. Any New device type adapter or changes to the adapter are provided as the new baseline in future releases of TSNA/BNA.
Make sure you reconcile your adapters after an upgrade.

as for modifying the adapter for the snmpOID
1) export your device type adapter
2) Modify the adapter to add the SnmpOid
<snmpOids>You can find examples in the Device type Adapter
3) Import Your device type adapter
Then re-try your device import.
