I must say if you are standing up a new environment and are standing up new processes that have never been used in any way before, then you almost need to 'guess'....but in general, you should have some concept of how large your user base is and make some estimates of a certain percentage of them will be using the system at any given time....then you have your help desk, desktop support, etc....you make some pretty educated guestimates and go forward....

Just To Add here factors which counts in sizing and Architecture.
* No of CI
* No of Incidents/CR/WO etc / Day
* User Count/Base
* Future Growth Of Users (2-4 Years Down the line)
* Future Growth of Incidents/CR/WO (2-4 Years Down the line)
* Future Growth of CI's
* No of Remedy Interfaces/Integrations
Based on these factors as suggested estimates are done. BMC base line is a good starting point.
is it 'Maximum number of managed devices' column meaning refer to number of CI records?
I need to give sizing spesification regarding no of CI to customers.
