Are there any dependencies between these module patches?  For instance, can we apply 9.1.03.001 to ITSM 1st before applying the patch to the platform?  Or must the platform be on 9.1.03.001 in order for ITSM to be on 9.1.03.001?  We're planning on applying 9.1.03 to our production next weekend and then look at upgrading ITSM from 9.1.01; wasn't sure if we could go with ITSM 9.1.03.001 and then come back around after that to upgrade our platform to the same level if needed, whether we needed to apply patch to platform before ITSM.

The ITSM patch now uses the platform D2P feature and there's a PDF doc on the EPD site with the patch that details the installation requirements.  This says...

Before you install the patch for BMC Remedy ITSM, ensure that Remedy AR System patch 9.1.03.001 is installed on the server .

So there does appear to be a requirement to update the platform first.

In short....application patches are planned to not be installers anymore....they are planned to use the Deployment Console built into the platform...very cool and exciting stuff

                Hi Everyone,

We are on 9.1 SP2 Patch003 with the following String for the server version :9.1.02.003 201705110652

Can we proceed to upgrade to the latest release or we need to first apply 9.1 Sp3?

One more thing to confirm as per the above conversation you folks say that Patches are not the installers anymore what that means..Can someone brief me on this...

Any concerns/issues related do let me know.

                Regards;--Abdul Moid

As always, to apply a patch, you must be on the SP the patch is for....so, for you to move forward, you will need to install SP3, then install SP3 P1.

If you are interested in applying, for example, ITSM SP3 P1, you would first need to get to ARS SP3 P1, and when you download the ITSM file, it will no longer include an executable that runs the install as in previous releases....it will be a Deployment Console 'package' that you import into the Deployment Console and 'execute' from there....there are directions included in the download, if this is a path you are going down, I recommend downloading and reading the provided files.
