Coming back to this again after years of work-arounds. Would there be a way in TOM to schedule a Cycle of a Task at 2 am on the first Sunday of the Month?
Wow thanks. That appears to be exactly what I need. Obviously this is going to take a while to figure out and test but I do appreciate your quick response!
My pleasure Chris.
In case of any questions or issues, please don't hesitate to get in touch again.
Have a nice rest of the day!
Of course I am having issues with the EXEC.
it only returns "Sunday the 15th is the third Sunday of December"
Here's all I am trying to test:
%MV3RDSUN TM3RDSUN Tuesday 06/09/20
%MV3RDSUN TM3RDSUN Wednesday 6/10/20

Please review the attached document. This is a procedure that should allow you to have TOM stop and start an object on the first Sunday of each month. It involves setting up calendar period entries for each month and then associating those entries with the object in question. The document is the basis of knowledge article 368655.
This solution does not involve any REXX or rules. Everything is done with calendar entries in TOM.
The big difference between the attached solution and the one in the knowledge article provided the other day by Oliver is that you need to determine the date of the first Sunday of each month and place that date in the calendar period entry for that month. You'll also have to update the calendar entry for a given month after the first Sunday has passed for that month. Updating the calendar entry, however, is a chore that only takes about a minute each month.
Take a look at the document. If you have any questions, please post them.
