Mainview PCIE Views and zEDC Usage

    Terry Bach

We just got two CECs with zEDC cards. When I look at the PCIE* views I do not see any usage, but the products indicated the cards are being used. PCIEDATA has been turned on, the CMF PCIE report indicates usage. The usage being tested so far is PKZip and Connect: Direct. It appears the PCIE* views appear to have been part of RSL1607, what should be viewable at this point?

          Hi Terry,

The PCIE* views should display data for zEDC cards. I've included a screen shot as an example.

Are you getting any PCIE related errors in your PAS job log? It might be easier to open a support ticket to

          determine the problem:

Thanks for the information. After we IPLd they showed up. Any reason they are being displayed as TYPE=Other? Was expecting HWA or zEDC as the type as in your screen print.

              Hi Terry,

This should be fixed with APAR BCY0077 PTF BQY1087 which is available from eFix website:

BCY0077 - THE VIEWS PCIE AND PCIEZ SHOW INCORRECT DEVICE TYPE.
THE OTH TYPE SHOULD BE HWA.
THERE IS A LOGIC ERROR IN THE CONVERSION
OF THE TYPE NUMERIC ID INTO THE CHARACTER FIELD.
