    Error occurred during Yellowfin post installation

      I got an error "The status of import service is FAILURE , the errorCode is -2 and the error message is UNKNOWN_ERROR  " while running

      post installation script.But error does't show much information.Any one let me know is it normal and the cause?

      (STEP 3 in Installing and configuring Yellowfin to enable Live reporting - BMC Server Automation 8.8 - BMC Documentation)

          You performed ALL the steps of the install  and logged on to Yellowfin and displayed the sample Dashboard page?

           

          Can you attach the <path-to-postinstaller>\log\yellowfinpostinstaller.log file (Use Advanced editor => Attach)

            What does your YellowFin.log indicate?

            One of the possibility of Import failure is your relevant views are not added to your BSA DB.

                1. Please attach (not copy/paste) long log files

                2. Please answer the question about the install steps

                 

                Did you start the start the Yellowfin service, the successfully log on and display the sample dashboard

                I'm just trying to establish whether the install was 100% successful

                  I am able to open live reporting console after postinstallation. But worried about the error occurred during post installation script.

                    Thanks for confirming Raju. 

                     

                    This is brand new functionality in BSA and we have limited troubleshooting tips, so I don't know if the message is anything we really need to worry about

                     

                    Now, what happens when you proceed?

                     

                    Can you logon using the REPORT_ADMIN user and configure the data source?

                     

                    I would recommend that you go ahead and log a support case so that the message can be properly scrutinized.

                      Thanks for quick response jim,

                      I am logged in and i am not able to locate BSA data source in data sources tab. do i need to configure manually?

                        OK - so that definitely confirms that the postinstall was incomplete - please go ahead with the support case

                          BSA data source gets created during import activity which has failed in your case. Try importing it manually. If you're not sure of further steps please do create support ticket as suggested by Jim.
