In an attempt to restore the original configuration I've rolled back all of my changes and my appserver still won't start with the same error....
com.bladelogic.om.infra.app.service.bootstrap.DeploymentException: com.bladelogic.om.infra.app.service.bootstrap.DeploymentException: Failed to deploy services: bladelogic.service.AuthenticationService
[14 Jun 2016 06:55:46,586] [Thread-1] [INFO] [::]  Undeploying
[14 Jun 2016 06:55:46,602] [Thread-1] [ERROR] [::]  java.rmi.NotBoundException: bladelogic.service.AppServerService
Ok, solved the second piece where reverting changes still caused the appserver to fail on start by moving two files out of the service directory:
# cd /opt/bmc/BladeLogic/NSH/br/deployments/default/services
# ls -l ldap*
-rw-r-----. 1 bladmin bladmin 525 Jun 14 04:57 ldapConnectionService.xml
-rw-r-----. 1 bladmin bladmin 1217 Jun 14 06:56 ldapService.xml
# mv ldapService.xml ..
# mv ldapConnectionService.xml ..
This would indicate that the xml files are the cause of my original problem also
there should be a way to specify a different suffix for the users that are sync'd.
That would be excellent.
For example, we have americas.domain.com and also just domain.com
When I log in (as I am in americas), my ID is email@example.com
A colleague of mine, who is in the root domain, has the id firstname.lastname@example.org
The LDAP sync creates all users with @domain.com
Preferably, my login ID would also use @domain.com
Hi BIll, thanks for the reference. Is that setting available in 188.8.131.52?
can you attach the entire appserver log showing the error during startup and the blasadmin output showing the ldap settings? or if you have a ticket post the # and attach those things there.
