    BSA: Killing child processes

    Neal Meagher

Right now Bladelogic uses sigterm to kill parent processes. That does not kill child processes spawned by the parent process inside linux. When running a script inside a batch file there really isnt a way to kill that script using The job timeout setting. We have seen and BMC dev team have tested the timeout with the kill process and determined sigterm does not kill the child process. It really makes timeout setting useless when applying to jobs to run on linux targets. I am entering in this idea to enable a way to track and kill all child and sub processes using the job timeout settings.
