You install the rscd and you install nsh. then configure the repeater object as noted in the docs.
NSH is must component for repeater?
One of my colleague has installed only RSCD and configured as repeater. Will it work with only RSCD?
Yes Santosh. It can still work with just RSCD Agent on it.
File deploy won’t work through the repeater if nsh isn’t installed.
To configure the repeater:
1. Identify the directory/File system to be used as Staging Directory on the repeater. Update REPEATER_STAGING_DIR with the same value (say /C/RepaterStaging)
2. Go to Configuration -> Infrastructure Management -> Right click on Repeater Servers -> New Repeater Server
3. Update with all the required details (self-explanatory)
4. Right click on Repeater Routing Rules -> New Rule. Define the rule as desired
Also, please make sure agent is up and running fine. Permissions and users files should be updated according to the roles/users who uses it during the deployment. Otherwise, you can make it wide open for all users.
Not sure Bill, if we have it configured it differently but, File Deploy job works just fine without NSH on a repeater. I had it working fine earlier too but, just copying the latest evidences here.

Are you using a post- command in your job ? iirc nsh is needed to run the post-
No Bill, I am not using any post-command.
