?what does the docs site say for supported upgrade paths for 8.6 ?
It doesn't say anything on the docs. I found a similar question on the communities and your response with a link but it doesn't take me to a page.
Thanks Bill. I will upgrade it to 8.5 with latest SP and then to 8.6.01 and eventually to 8.6.01.001

Can I upgrade BSA from ver. 8.2.02 to 8.6.01 directly?
The current version is 8.7, why would you upgrade to a down-level version?
N.B. The upgrade path is the same - that is, you need to go via an interim release

i'm just pointing you at the docs site because the upgrade paths are clearly laid out there. why not upgrade to 8.7 ?
What did you find out when you checked the information in the messages?
Do you have NSH Proxy configured?
Do you have client-Side Certification configured?
Both of these are covered in the docs at the link Bill posted above:
It is a default installation on my vm. I do not have client side certification configured as well.
What about NSH Proxy then? Is appserver_protocol=ssoproxy set in the secure file?
Can you attach the bsainstallupgrade.log.
Here are the contents of secure file...
I am unable to find bsainstallupgrade.log file.

"appserver_protocol=ssoproxy" means NSH Proxy is configured. Read the docs at the link supplied and follow the instructions.
See Point 5 in "Step 3: Prepare the automation environment"
Also see "Can I use the unified product installer to upgrade Application Servers with advanced security configuration?" in Troubleshooting the unified product installer - BMC Server Automation Documentation - BMC Documentation
The bsainstallupgrade.log will be in %TEMP% (on Windows) or in /tmp (on Linux) See "Where can I find the log files written by the unified product installer?" in the same Troubleshooting page
Thanks Jim. This was very helpful. I am not seeing the error anymore. I will proceed with the upgrade now.
I am using individual installer for upgrading BSA from 8.3.03 to 8.6.01. I was able upgrade the database, RSCD agent and app server successfully but while upgrading the console I am having issues.
- I execute the installer (BBSACONSOLE86-SP1-WIN32.exe). Once executed, I get the following window which I have never seen before.
2. Once I click on choose, I get the following error.
I tried to download the installer again from epd but getting the same error.
I am using 32 bit windows server 2008 standard and SQL Server 2008 on 32 bit windows server 2008.
Can you please help?
