QM001876397 Patch Proxy server configuration does not work for RHEL 7 patch catalog update. 8.6.00,
Thanks Jim for advice,
However we were using proxy previously and it worked fine, we have artifact which shows RHEL7 Patch catalog update was successfully completed.
Please guide us why could have it is broken now we have raised case with BMC a month back but no significant progress and missing all the timelines agreed with Customer for RHEL7 servers patching.
You need to apply the latest update of 8.6 SP1, that's what the article basically says.
That said, you may run into another issue if you're planning on patching RHEL 7 with BSA. It doesn't support child channel yet, with or without the offline downloader, and this won't be possible until version 8.8 which is targetted for April of this year I believe. The offline downloader of 8.8 should be made backwards-compatible with BSA 8.7, but I don't know when that version will be available however.
Concretely, what this means that if any of your RHEL 7 server has rpms from other channels than the base upstream server channel, it will fail its yum analysis with a missing dependency error every time one of the packages marked for update points to a dependent package coming from a child channel.
A common example of this is the package php-mbstring, which is part of the optional server channel, and is often installed along with PHP.
So if you thought you were missing all the timelines agreed with your customer, you may have other surprises when you start patching...
Bottom line, you should start planning an upgrade to BSA 8.7 in preparation for this.
what version of bsa are you on ? when did it stop working ? and what is the ticket number ?
We are currently having BSA 8.6.01.66 version.
We have logged a case with BMC two months back, but still no solution.Case number : ref:_00D30MODz._50014t0akV:ref
Catalog was updated successfully on 23 October 2015. After that when we have tried to update it in the month of December , it was giving error as :
Error 01/22/2016 16:43:36 Error while updating feed: yum repolist failed, eError: https://cdn.redhat.com/content/dist/rhel/server/7/7Server/x86_64/os/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] HTTP Error 403: Forbidden
Trying other mirror.
Below image will show you that it was updated successfully:
Please check this and suggest as we are not able to do patching of RHEL7 servers.
so you are still going through the same http proxy ? and there are no errors on the proxy ?
can you re-run the cuj and attach the cuj log and the appserver log covering the time of the cuj run here? (use the advanced editor) ?
