TM ART is in the latter stages of support where updates like this are highly unlikely. I think you'll have to go to the new Synthetic Transaction product to get a newer version of Silk Performer (which is the basis of the Workbench) which supports newer browsers.
Katherine Welford can probably verify this.
No, TM ART 4.2 does not support IE11.
The TM ART 4.2 Release Notes are here:
See page 15.
Hal is correct. Look to the TM ART replacement.
The gentlemen who already commented are correct. You have another option, when coding a monitor in the workbench you can choose to pretend to be IE11, and you can also choose to pretend to be IE 11 when scheduling a monitor using 4.2 Central.
I am faced with IE 11 as it is being "pushed" to all desktops/servers and I had to arrange to protect my TMART machines with a special OU in my Active Directory to prevent Windows Updates from bringing in IE 10 or IE 11.
My two cents, Todd
which new Synthetic Transaction product do you mean ? EUEM ??
We have a test Installation of EUEM 2 months ago. You are right. EUEM supports a new Silkperformer Version (15.0).
To my mind EUEM has only 10% of the TM ART functionality. Definitively EUEM isn't an alternativ for TM ART customer
Poor TM ART customers
There was a version of the new product that plugged into the EUEM infrastructure, yes. It had some growing pains. And it had gaps although I would say it had a bit more than "10% of TM ART functionality".
The current version plugs into the new TrueSight Operations Management Presentation Server instead of the EUEM infrastructure. I haven't laid hands on it yet but I've heard good things. It supports the most recent version of Silk Performer and Silk Test which is huge since the version in TM ART is from 2007, iirc.
I've kind of lost track of the product names now that I'm not watching the product name shell game from inside. Dan Egner will know the right name and how it plugs together.
I have seen the new product. It seems to have more functionalities than the old one.
But it is not ready for TM ART Customer to make the migration.
The support of IE 11 is the key functionality of the workbench.
I 'm very disappointed about the decision not to bring new updates for supporting new IE versions until 2019 !
I'm with you on this Hung, I am also a customer, I have a standing Truesight 10, it really fell short compared to TMART, a couple of issues are measures are on milliseconds only , the project names are not properly carried over, no way to pull data from dashboards. There are great features and capabilities , but outside synthetic monitoring.
Microsoft doesn't support IE 10 and older anymore. That means, that all the PCs and Servers in our company have to migrate their IE to version 11 asap.
What version(s) of Internet Explorer does it support when recording and during playback?
I am using TMART 4.2 sp2 currently, and we run many SilkTest Monitors and it only allows recordings from IE9, thus limiting more modern Web applications.
Our Truesight v10 development system uses SilkPerformer v16 to record where IE11 is supported.
The support of the IE 11 depends on the version of the TM ART Workbench
TM ART Workbench is the same product Silkperformer from Microfocus.
The TM ART workbench 4.2 SP2 is the Silkperformer 9.5 from 2012
Since then there are 5 newer Silkperformer Versions from Microfocus
Silkperformer 10 0
Silkperformer 9 5
Silkperformer 15 and newer suport IE 11
That means that BMC has to upgrade the TM ART workbench to Silkperformer 15 in order to support IE11
