In this case i am talking of 8.5 SP1
What are the different answers you have gotten so far ?
App Server with Internet Connectivity (or for offline, you need to download the files and place in Repo)
RSCD Agent on the end server up and running
KB number for a white list patching
Some /temp file space as per the kb size
In my case i am talking about BMC BBSA 8.5 SP1.
As per BMC document:
"On Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7, ensure that the following services are enabled:
Windows Update Service
Remote Registry Service
In addition, ensure that the user who runs the Patch Analysis Job has Admin Share Access (admin$) and read/write privileges for the relevant folders."
As per BMC Support:
Had get confirmation from doc team that since BSA8.5, we had removed the prerequisite for patching on WIndows, when in BSA8.3 and older
bellowing prerequists are no longer required in BSA8.5.(still required in 8.3 and oldversion)
- Windows Update Service
- Remote Registry Service
- Admin Share

What is unclear?
Ask the support rep assisting with ISS04476066 to make sure the docs get updated...
the document you reference was updated on 23-Jun-2015 w/ those changes.
But as per BMC support says the pre-requisite is no longer required.
Jim i am not sure what is the exact pre-requisite at windows endpoint servers for patching with 8.5 SP1
It seems that Support have given you the information, and as Bil has said, the docs have now been updated.
Yes, and the docs are now reflecting the fact that those prerequisites are no longer required in 8.5.
so finally what are the prerequisite on end point windows for patching?
what is now listed on that page.
