Error installing RSCD Agent on Red Hat 6.5

    Joe Piotrowski

We're using the RSCD85-SP1-P5-HF1-LIN64.sh installer and attempting to install as root and getting the following error:

Extracting data /opt/bmc/bladelogic/NSH/nativetool_installer/sysinfo_installer: line 607: ./makeselftools/bzip2: Permission denied

Extracting data /opt/bmc/bladelogic/NSH/nativetool_installer/sysinfo_installer: line 622: ./setup: No such file or directory

The program returned an error code (127)

This is our File Server so we're attempting to get support as quickly as possible since we can't proceed without it. We opened a Support ticket ISS04481367 and got this response:

Looks like the agent install did nit go successfully.

Shows an issue with the sysinfo tool installation part. Agent will not function properly with these errors.

Also, the agent creates a startup script called rscd in /etc/rc.d/init.d folder. Do you see that? If it is not created, it will not start automatically.

Thus if below commands return nothing, the auto-start on boot is not configured.

      - chkconfig --list | grep rscd

      - ls /etc/init.d | grep rscd

I'll assign this to an EMEA engineer who can help you with this during your time zone.

Has anyone encountered this error before and know the resolution for it? Thanks!
