There are various ways you can integrate with RemedyForce.
You have a completely open API that you can use. You can then create the WSDL from salesforce
Some methods we have used:
Email Service - create custom apex classes to allow say moitnoring tools to email in alerts and then the custom email service creates tickets as required. This can then be updated with further workflow and notifciations to provide updates out and back and ticket transitions etc.
Ebond - full web services using the API and custome apex to have two ticketing systems talking to eachother.
Pentaho - having for instnace another tool providing a daily file or data source (you can interlink into databases etc.) and then schdueling and running custom scripts and integrating that method.
You have other capacity like SAML for single sign on
Also many CTI connectors for itnegrations with Telephony using softphone
You best bet is to use the salesforce knowledge and remedyforce knowledge where almost all of this information is avaialble. Also pentaho is an open source product and they have their own wiki and documentation also.
