For powershell scripts we use we can add in '-inputformat None' to the external command within a blpackage to prevent the problem of the powershell interpreter hanging when a job is executed on a target. However, we are seeing the same behaviour with vendor-provided utilities that call powershell commands themselves. In these cases we do not have any opportunity to add the 'inputformat None' parameter - the particular case where we have seen this is with adding a newly built Citrix server to an existing farm using xenappconfigconsole.exe . The binary hangs when running and the detail logs show that it is waiting on the completion of a powershell script. Has anyone found a workaround for this type of situation ?
