Using the Unified Product Installer (UPI) to install a Default Application Server Node:
On Windows it requires SQL Server database.
On Linux it requires Oracle or Oracle XE database.
Database (Oracle Express Edition or Oracle Enterprise Edition for Linux and Microsoft SQL Server for Windows)
If you don't want to use the defaults, you can use the individual installers rather than the UPI
We've tried to configure the DB using the Application Server Configuration Wizard but we're keep getting the following error message:
Failed to retrieve Database version
I've asked our DBA and the Oracle version is 126.96.36.199.
We're trying to connect to the DB using 'jdbc' name.
the UPI only supports installing the following combos:
windows / sql server
linux / oracle
running the product w/ the other permutations is supported, so you will need to perform the install w/o the upi.
Thanks for the replay Bill.
As I've said we did try to configure it without the UPI but still the Application Server Configuration throws an error message.
I'll guess we'll open a ticket and see if the support team can help us with this issue.
Thanks for the assistance
Are you able to resolve this issue after raising a ticket with BMC support?
Even I am facing the same issue while installing BSA 8.6.01 without UPI on Linux platform with MSSQL database and the Application Server Configuration throws an error message as "Failed to retrieve database version".
So if you have the solution to this issue given by BMC, then it will be good if you share the same here on community.
Thanks in advance.
