what are you customizing in the kickstart file ?
We are using a kickstart generated by an external group and just adding Bladelogic-specific modifications to it.
I assume if i created a separate system package with this it would work?
network --bootproto static --device ??NET_DEVICE?? --ip ??IP_ADDRESS?? --netmask ??SUBNET_MASK?? --gateway ??DEF_GATEWAY?? --hostname ??HOST_NAME??
I was hoping to find a way to use an if/else in the kickstart but i am not sure if there is any syntax that will parse correctly.
Instead of customizing the whole kickstart, can you just customize the various sections ? that should keep the ability to flip between dhcp and not…
I believe another group is generating it from Satellite and the process is not something we're going to be able to change. It would likely be easier to just have 2 system packages than to try to figure out which pieces from the generated kickstart would need to be separated out to only modify those sections.
it should work. We currently use such and on the blcli we update the device property before kicking off the provisioning job
network --bootproto static --device ??NET_DEVICE?? --ip ??DEVICE.IP?? --netmask ??DEVICE.SUBNET_MASK?? --gateway ??DEVICE.DEFAULT_GATEWAY?? --hostname ??HOST_NAME??
