someone else may have tried this but this is not supported from a bsa perspective - meaning we don't have tools to do it. there are 3rd party tools which will convert from sql to oracle and vice versa so it may be possible.
i'd also ask what performance limitations you are running into w/ sql server that you think oracle will resolve ?? w/o wanting to start a religious war, in theory the two should be equivalent.
if i create a new oracle instance and then export and import all from console?
Unfortunately not all object types can be exported.
What performance issue are you trying to address by going to oracle? why can’t you resolve that in sql server ? is it some limitation w/ sql server ?
our infrastructure is more efficient in a oracle infrastructure... (hardware, performance and skill).
from the last upgrade 8.5 sp1 opening the job is very slow.
Does this still have the same answer (~1.5 years later), i.e. there is no BMC provided solution to migrate BSA from SQL to Oracle?
If you did need to do this, are there any suggested paths beyond:
- build BSA using ORA ( and simply start from scratch) OR
- export what you can from SQL and import to ORA
- re-create whatever is 'missing'?

There's no change. as i mentioned you can try one of the 3rd party migration tools - that may or may not work and is not something we've tested. otherwise it's export/import and re-create.
