Create your Task templates, then create a Change Request template and link the Task templates to it. As your Final Approval Action in your approval process, apply this Change Request template by performing a field update to Template Name in the Change Request object and the tasks will be created only when the Change Request is fully approved.
Make sure in Remedyforce Administration ->Application Settings->General Application Settings you have the boxes checked for "Allow applying of templates on an existing record" and "Replace form field values with template field values".
I have a similar question, I created SR then set approval process on it, after the SR is approved I want to auto create the task.
In my final approval action, I added one action which is create new task, however when I tested and approved the SR there's no task created and linked to my SR record.
What I understand the Task action in approval action is to create and link new task to your SR, please advise if my understanding is correct, thanks before.
Create task this action creates a task. This Task object is standard object provided by Salesforce.
The records gets created in this object, not on Task object provided by BMC Remedyforce.
API name of BMC Remedyforce task object is BMCServiceDesk__Task__c.
API name of Salesforce object is Task.
Via Approval process you cannot create Task in remedyforce.
Thanks for the clarification, is there other way to trigger RMF task creation using workflow?
as of now I can only think of using Process Builder to achieve this
you may have a look at the official guide BMC Remedyforce Service Request Management.
In your final approval action the filed "approved" should be set to True in order to trigger the creation of BMCRF Tasks
Yes it can also be done that way, I thought the task will still be created, however when I tested the task will only be created after the SR it's approved.
Thanks all ^^
I believe you are looking at standard out of box functionality.
For example - new hire service request approved. Create one or number of tasks.
So create tasks only when the service request is approved.
This is possible
1. Create service request form
2. Create task templates ( the once which you want to create after approved) . You should create it under rf admin- templates
3. On service request add this template fulfilment
4. Make sure you check submit for approval check box
5. Create approval process which applies for that sr
6. In final approval steps create "approved check box"
When service request is approved task is created. You can also make it more intuitive by using invoke options ( create task only for selection)
