    MS Patch Catalogs updates failing

      Hi

Since around a week ago our patch catalogs updated without any issues. Bladelogic 8.5 by the way.

Now looking at the logs for the MS Catalog update job I see the following (end of the catalog update)......

Ive been through the entire logs and can see no errors at all, just the job fails every time without any clues. As far as I know I have not changed anything on the server to change this.

At present I can not patch any system. grrrrr

      Can anyone assist ?

      Many thanks

      Tony

            Hiya

How do I run it in debug mode ?

Here it is. Select the job -> go to propertioes tab and then Extended and choose property DEBUG_MODE_ENABLED and set it to true.

can you export the job run log from the CUJ and attach it ?

I can see some timeout error and couple of warnings w/ no mapping found for selected product/filter in the metadata file, which is updated from shavlik site.

When did you last time updated your metadata file ? Is it online or offline mode of patching ? If it is online mode then during catalog update BSA will take care to update your meta data file. In case it is offline you need to download the updated metadata file and replace w/ older one. There is  also an option available as metadata correction file for any custom requirement. Haven't tried yet though.

Run at 19-Jan-2015 14:11:15    Error    19/01/2015 14:21    ", Error: error on lazy load :  (Caused By: An error occurred while attempting to access the database:

(Caused By: Cannot get a connection, pool error Timeout waiting for idle object (Caused By: Timeout waiting for idle object)))"

Looks like insufficient DB Connection were available right at that time

Get the appserver log messages that match this time and look at the immediately preceding [Memory Monitor] message - in 8.5 (not sure exactly which build, these message show connection counts.

                      For example:
