Snapshot Hotfixes job throws JNIFileExists error

    richard mcleod

So... since there IS no effective way to filter a snapshot job to only capture one hotfix, I created a snapshot job to capture the HotFixes CO from each windows server. The job ran for 1 hour, 15 minutes, ~2000 targets (mixed Windows 2003, 2008, 2012). The snapshot results were as follows

      Aborted: 176

      Success: 109

      Error: 1710

Looking at the Aborted servers, the logs only show:

      java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: null component

I checked a few of the servers listed under Aborted, they have the HotFixes CO and do return the query. So not sure whats going on here. Could it be the RSCD version?

The Error logs show the following message for each server:

      Info12/02/2014 12:22:27Snapshot job 'MS_HOTFIX_SNAPS-s' Started taking snapshot of component 'MS_HOTFIX_SNAPS (server02)'
Info12/02/2014 12:22:27Snapshot job 'MS_HOTFIX_SNAPS-s' Started taking snapshot of component 'MS_HOTFIX_SNAPS (server02)' part 'HotFixes'
Error12/02/2014 13:23:10Snapshot of target part 'HotFixes' of asset class type 'Windows Hotfix List' failed on target 'server02': JNI fileExists '//blfs/D/BL_DataStore/Storage//templates/hf7b.xml' failed:: Operation canceled //blfs/D/BL_DataStore/Storage//templates/hf7b.xml
      Error12/02/2014 13:23:10Snapshot job 'MS_HOTFIX_SNAPS-s' failed for component 'MS_HOTFIX_SNAPS (server02)' part 'HotFixes' on server 'server02'

      Anyone know what this means?

Why is the snapshot job trying to write/access the hf7b.xml file? Does it grab the contents of the CO and then use the xml to help gather info?
