I was experimenting even though we don't have implemented Change module yet. you can look underneath and found out you can make changes.
Explore these forms:
NGC:DataSource (Check you data source you want to modify)
SYS:Form Field (Selection search for fields selection type "NextGen Calendar")
NGC:DataSourceDate (On datasource form the dates quailification are stored here incase you need to change.)
NGC:Filter stores all the managed queries predefined filters when you look from Change Calendar configuration from application administration console.
If you defined what exactly change you want to make can test and direct you there.
Thank you for your answer.
In the meantime we got some answers from BMC and the situation is the following:
- Eventview is not customizable - the list of displayed columns are hard-coded in the plugin
- Status values could be removed using one of the backend forms, but that is also not easy
Furthermore we find the Calendar useful, but missing other key functionalities (e.g. export to CSV or Excel), therefore we will choose another approach.
I understand you. If you don't mind can you mock the screenshot what you want. Someone might suggest you better solution.
We are in the process looking at the same thing. Before we look at customization's we are looking at what we can get the standard calendar of ITSM 8.1 SP1.
- Would like to see Business Time Segments like holidays. Can this be added as a separate data source?
- Alternative way of setting up change windows and change freeze windows.
Any tips in this area would be good.
I have not worked much in change calendar side, only I explored to see if i can add new data source and my custom POC calendar show up as well. I was successfull in that without customization only configurations and i have mentioned all those forms. I personally think as a separate data source business holidays can be displayed on the calendar. Experts may explain in a better way.
NGC:Filter is good place to start if you are looking after defining your own queries.
I created couple of new predefined queries for changes and they seem to work quite nicely.
Searched for one existing query in NGC:Filter and partly copied fields from existing query and renamed some.
Fill in the fields for:
Filtername Tier 1: Give your own descriptive name
Filtername Tier 2: Again own name (if you want to put query under some "folder")
Data Source Name: - Use drop down to select changes and copy the returned data source ID to Data Source ID -field
- Type in "Changes" into Data Source Name
Filter Type: Predefined Queries
Data Source Form: Type in CHG:Infrastructure Change
Form_Name_Alias: Change Management Main Form
Build your own qualification or copy from your SYS:Predefined queries you have defined for changes
Filter Description: Purpose of the query/filter
Someone has tryed to add new command inside "NGC:Commands" form.
I try to add an OPEN_ACTIVITY2, but when I try to trigger it, plugin cannot create the event:
EVENT: Event OPEN_ACTIVITY2 instanceID=ID***;formName=WOI:WorkOrder;activityID=WO**** | NGC:Calendar/Default Administrator View Mon Sep 21
im trying to add task start date and end date in change calendars, can you please assist me in this.
Thank you so much for the assistance. it was of great help.
I have not tried and neither investigated, if that is possible.
